As a Christian you have a duty and responsibility to share with others what you have received. Think about this, you know that the bridge is out and the sign that would warn others has been removed. Do you keep the information all to yourself, saving only yourself and your family, or do you go out of your way to warn others of potential death?
Today we like to give you ten reasons why Christians should share the Gospel...
1. We have been commanded to do so. In Matthew 28:19 (NJKV), Jesus gives the command to the disciples. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." We have been given the command to preach the Word!
2. Hell is real. “But I will show you the one to fear: Fear Him who has the authority to throw people into hell after death. Yes, I say to you, this is the one to fear!” (Luke 12:5 CSB).
3. If you really love your neighbor. We should all strive to love our neighbors just as much as we love ourselves. The story is told of a fireman who wanted so badly to get home that he failed to rescue people from a burning building, thus causing death on them all. “And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt. 22:39 NRSV).
4. Through Obedience. “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice…” (1 Sam. 15:22 KJV). Samuel tells Saul that it is better to obey the laws and commandment of God than to have a multitude of material things. We are not saved because we are obedient, but we are obedient because we are saved.
5. Silence is sinful. “However, suppose the watchman sees the sword coming but doesn’t blow the trumpet, so that the people are warned, and the sword comes and takes away their lives. Then they have been taken away because of their iniquity, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.” (Eze. 33:6 CSB). God stresses the responsibility of those who have heard the message of repentance and failed to follow it. Spiritual leaders have a responsibility as well to warn God’s people of coming judgment.
6. Helps us to walk closely with God. If we teach others how to fish, then not only will they be able to feed themselves, but those who are around them as well. “Jesus called out, come along with Me and I will show you how to fish for the souls of men.” (Matt. 4:19 TLB).
7. We want to learn more. “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2 NIV). The blessed individual finds delight in the Word of God. It becomes so good to his soul that he wants more and more.
8. We have respect for the Cross. As we preach the cross it, not only does it helps us to share God’s gift of salvation, but it deepens our understanding of what God wants us to do. “Not only that, we give thanks to God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have been brought back to God.” (Romans 5:11 NLV).
9. It Creates a stronger prayer life. Prayer is the love language of God, and when we ask of Him the desires of our heart in faith, He will be faithful and true to answer us. “Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you your heart’s desires.” (Psalm 37:4 CSB).
10. We become Disciples of Christ. “When you become fruitful disciples of mine, my Father will be honored.” (John 15:8 CEV). Bottomline, it’s all about make disciples all in accordance with the Great Commission.
