Let it Rain

"He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the hills" - Psalm 147:8.
The psalmist is praising God for His provisions and His great power to bring restoration to His people. He notes that as it rains, this causes the grass to grow so that the cows can eat and produce milk for His people.
The movement begins with clouds that are full of water, and in them He prepares rain for the earth to replenish and to bring blessings upon it. He then completes this picture by giving to the beast of the fields, and the birds of the air so that their young can fed.
This is a beautiful picture of God providing His blessings on the earth and His people. It is the life-giving rain that produces praise for the goodness of His grace and mercy. "The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice" (Ps. 97:1).
