Feed Them

“But He said to them, You give them something to eat.” (Luke 9:13 NKJV).

Paul said that many in the world are hungry and thirsty for the Word of God, and he used any means available to him to reach the unsaved. “To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” (1 Cor. 9:22-23).

As believers, Jesus challenges us to meet the needs of other people, and this point was clearly demonstrated to His disciples. People are hungry and thirsty for the Word and need to be fed spiritually, but they must also be provided for physically as well. Jesus says that but both and soul needs to be saved and restored, so He provides us with both.

Having the right attitude as a disciple is the key. If those whom you are trying to minister to see that you have a bad attitude, they will be turned away. But when you act, treat and speak to them in a kind and humble manner, you will in most cases win them over. It is said that the gospel does one of two things. It either draws people closer to Christ, or it runs them away.

Father thank You for the Word that You have spoken to us on this day. We look to You to lead and guide us, and when we encounter others who are yearning for the Word let us approach them in a kind and humble way. Teach us so that we may go forth and make more disciples for You. It’s in the name of Jesus that we pray. Amen!

One Love,
