Be Strong!

Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9 HCSB.

Whenever Joshua faced an enemy and was tempted to be afraid, he would remember that he was a man with a divine commission and purpose, and his fears would disappear. He would remember that his mission was to serve the Lord and do His will just like Moses before him did. Like Joshua when we come face to face with our enemy become tempted as well, and fear overtakes us. But we must remember the promises of God and find encouragement from His commandment to obey Him through faith.

Encouragement is the inner strength that one has and it enables a believer to carry on with the mission that God has given them, but this can only take place when a person fully surrenders to the will of God and allow Him to take control of their lives. God reminded Joshua three times to be strong and courageous and not give in to fear, because He would be with him wherever he went. He gives you and me that same promise, that He will be with us to the end of the time.
