Get Low!

“Be humble under God’s powerful hand so He will lift you up when the right time comes. Give all your worries to Him, because He cares about you.” (1 Pet. 5:6-7 NCV).

During a football game, they offensive line, no matter how big they are must stay low. In order for you to gain leverage in lifting something, you must get low. No matter how big you get in life, what title you have on the job or how much money you have in the bank, stay low.

Being humble means that you are not proud, haughty or arrogant. It means that you reflect a spirit of submission. And get this, being humble doesn’t cost you anything.

Jesus who made Himself equal with God, humbled Himself to come in the form of a lowly man. He left the comforts and security of heaven to come and live a life that was beneath the standard.

Father God, teach us how to become and stay humble in Your eyes. Help us to understand that just because we have a name, doesn’t mean that it is written in Your Book of Life. It’s in the name of Jesus that we pray. Amen!
