God, Our Refuge!

"God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble." (Psalm 46:1 TLB).
God is our place of security and He is never too busy to available. When your back is up against the wall and you have nowhere else to turn, you can turn to Him and He WILL provide.
In chapter 17 of 1 Kings there was a widowed woman who was out searching for sticks to start a fire so that she could cook a last meal for her and her son. She was down to her last when the prophet Elijah showed up and requested to be fed. He challenged her to act on faith and trust in God to give her more than enough. She knew that he was a Man of God, and if she trusted in Him, He would supply all of her needs.
Terrible things happen all the time, but if we trust in God to provide us with covering, He will do just that. We are told to trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him, and He WILL direct our paths. There is no need to fear, we must trust in His provision. He is powerful and everything is under His control.
