Have Faith

"For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7 ESV).

Dr. Tony Evans wrote in his commentary concerning this verse: "God responds when you walk by faith, not when you talk by faith." In short we must live based on what God's Word teaches us to believe instead of what we see.

This morning as I was trying to come up with a verse to post, this one for reasons that could only be explained through the Holy Spirit keep resting on my spirit. While sitting and having a cup of coffee it came up, and while rising out my cup, it came up again. So this must be what God wants me to speak on this morning.

Faith as we know it from Hebrews 11:1 is the substance of the things that we hope for, and the evidence of those that are not seen. Although we cannot see the promise land up ahead, we must have faith to believe that what God is telling us is the truth. Walking by faith means that we have confidence and the courage to face the things of the world, and while we may be overwhelmed and burdened down for the moment, it's the hope that the eternal realities that He has promised will become our reward.
