"Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit." (John 15:2 ESV).
Good morning God's beautiful people and welcome to this Faithful Friday. We greet you all in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Dr. Tony Evans writes in his commentary "God's goal for every Christian is an increase in fruit bearing, and fruitfulness is a life of spiritual usefulness and productivity for the good of others and the glory of God."
The part that is hard for most Christians is that if I am bearing fruit, then why in the world do I need to be pruned? I mean, if I am glorifying God by bring others to Him already, why do I need to go through the process? In order to get even more out of us, God has to shape us up to receive more. Yes you may be doing all that is required of you, but there may be something that is holding you back, something that stands in the way of you completely giving your all for the kingdom.
Purging hurts because it removes things that hinder our growth. It's the removal of the things that we hold so near and dear in our hearts, and because it's in the way, God has to make room for His purpose. Pruning maybe a physical aliment that has been inflicted on you that has brought you to the point of getting down on your knees crying out to Him. "The highest branch on the tree is not always the safest, and our greatest joys and sorrows can come from the same branch."
You must remember that just because you are high up on the ladder of success doesn't mean that you are better off than those who are below you. Pruning is an ongoing process in the lives of a Christian, and those who are fruitful God will prune so that they can bear more fruit.
God although it hurts us to go through the pain, we know that the pruning process is a necessary one. We pray that as we go through, that You will continue to lend us a helping hand through it all. It's in the name of Jesus Christ that we give You all the praise, honor and glory. Amen!
I pray that you all have a great day.
One Love,
