Holy Fear

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." (Proverbs 9:10 HCSB).
Dr. Tony Evans wrote that Wisdom is the willingness and ability to apply spiritual truths to life's realities. He goes further by saying that it is the ability to understand that the divine perspective comes only from God and how we should apply it in our lives. So if you are going to become wise, you have to get to know God through His Word and take Him more seriously.
When we seek God first and not other people, places or things we begin to have our eyes open even further to His truths. Sometimes we walk in fear because we put our trust in people and not God. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." The fear of the Lord is the key to His foundation, and it unlocks the treasuries of salvation, wisdom and knowledge.
Remember, God will give you the desires of your heart when you ask Him!
