No Greater Love

"No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13 CSB).

Good morning God's beautiful people, it's another good and perfect day. As I look out into the tree line that is surrounding my camper I can witness the sun shining brightly through the trees giving them a look of the beauty of God's creation. "For the Lord is good!"

There is a story of an African chief who got wind of a mutiny being planned in his tribe to overthrow him from power. In order to put an end to it, the chief called everyone together and said that anyone who is caught up in this rebellion would receive 100 lashes without mercy.

Long story short, when the chief found out that the leader of this rebellion was his own brother he held to his promise, as everyone thought that he would go back on his word. But holding true to his promise, he had his brother tied to a tree, then he had himself tied next to him as well. With his bare back exposed, he receive the lashes in his brother's place. In doing so, he not only kept his word of justice being served, but demonstrated his great love and forgiveness toward him.

Father we thank You for the GREAT love that You had for us, Jesus was manifest in human form made just a little lower than the angels so that He could come and become the living sacrifice for us all. We are so thankful that He took our place on the Cross and died for the sins of the world so that we could live forever with You. It's in His Wonderful name that we pray. Amen!
