Rejoice!

"Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matt. 5:11-12 ESV).

I found the word REVILE to be a very interesting one in my study, and it was the key word for me during this time. The word means to raise a complaint or to harshly criticize. It's to persecute, slander, curse or to speak evil of someone. This word carries a lot of weight, because who among you likes to be mocked or falsely accused of something you did not do?

Those same words that I just described is what you may go through are an example the same thing that our Lord Jesus Christ went through, and in most cases today He's still being persecuted. Days before the people of Jerusalem were praising Him shouting Hosanna, Hosanna were the same ones shouting crucify Him!

When we are faithful to Christ, we too, will suffer some level of rejection, or ridicule, and all who are godly will be persecuted. But the sufferings of this life cannot be compared with the glory to be revealed. So when you encounter someone who disdains your faith, as the apostle Paul puts it: "Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say Rejoice!" (Phil 4:4).

I pray that you all have a GREAT day!

One Love,
