The Guardian

“The law, then, was out guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by faith.” (Gal. 3:24 CSB).

Good morning, God’s beautiful people, it’s another beautiful Friday morning. We needed rain and God knew it, and so being who He is, He provided. We praise Him for all things, great and small. But most of all, we give Him praise, honor and glory for Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen!

A guardian is a defender, protector, and a keeper. It is a person who looks after and is legally responsible for someone who is unable to manage their own affairs. It is someone who has the responsibility of looking after younger children, providing them with moral instruction and discipline, bringing them to a point of understanding.

The law was supposed to have been our guardian, that would lead us to see our need for Jesus Christ. Its charge was to bring us to the real Teacher, and at the end of the day, bring us safely back home again. But it became a prison for man, as it kept us in custody, imprisoned, and held in bondage. The law accuses and condemns, and it preys upon our mind, and cuts and convicts the heart. But then it leaves us there.

The true Teacher, Jesus Christ is able to secure our righteousness through our faith in Him. He is proof of what faith does when we put our trust in the Word of God. Since Christ has come, there is no need for a guardian, for it is He who brings us face to face with God the Father.

Dear God, for what the law could not do, Jesus can, and we give praise, honor, and glory to You for sending Him to secure our right standing with You. He didn’t have to give Himself up for any of us, but because of His love, He did, and we are grateful for it. It’s in His Mighty and Wonderful name that we give You all the praise, the honor, and the glory. Amen!

I pray that you all have a wonderful and safe weekend.

One Love,
