The Power of the Cross

"For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Cor. 1:18 NASB).

Having been delivered, believers in Jesus Christ are now saved from the power and effects of sin, but the followers of the son of perdition are walking farther and farther away from God.

Those who are saved cling to the Word of God and they hold it fast to their hearts, so that when the time comes they have it to use at their disposal. But the sons of perdition take pleasure in wickedness because they do not believe in the truth. God has chosen the believers to be saved from the beginning and there is no greater security in knowing that there is no longer any judgment or condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
