The Route

"Now when Pharaoh had let the people go, God did not lead them through the way of the land of the Philistines, although it was nearby. For God said, “Lest the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt." (Exodus 13:17 MEV).

You may feel that there is no way out, no solution to help you overcome your problems. Day by day you battle with thoughts of hopelessness, discouragement and pressure. You think to yourself there is just no way I can win! But this is not true and the enemy wants you to believe this lie. God cares for you and He will see you out of your problems.

Day and night, God leads us in the direction that He wants us to take. It may seem like it's the long way around, but believe me it's for a reason. Think of this, if He would have allowed the Israelites to go through the land of the Philistines, they could have easily became afraid and discouraged of what they saw. God knew that they were just not ready to face any opposition just yet, so He sent them around towards the Red Sea.

When you and I first gave our lives to Christ, there were certain things that God had to lead us away from. Old friends and bad habits He had to cut loose, because if we continued to hang around the bad habits would have stayed and we would have easily went back to "Egypt." God will give us the way and the strength to overcome, but we must be willing to follow Him. This is the lesson of faith that Israel had to learn, and it's one that we are still learning to this day. Trust God He knows whats best for you!
