Tired & Weary

"Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:28 HCSB).

Christ gives us an open invitation to come to Him. This is a picture of a person who is very weary and can not take another step. He is either under extreme pressure or extreme weariness. Either way the invitation is open and it does not matter what the issue is.

There are a number of things that can exhaust us like being overburdened with too much to do, worldliness due to the lust of possessions. We chase fame and power, and then there are rules and regulations in which me must abide to. This is enough to cause us to quickly get bowed down under.

Rest is available but we have to come to Jesus Christ in order to receive it. We must let go of all those conditions that causes the struggles and despair. We must let go if we are to receive the rest from God.

God there are times that we become so overburdened and weighed down due to all the issues of life. We have our families to care for, the job that requires attention along with a whole host of other things that may suddenly appear. But Jesus promise's us rest, and all we have to do is to let go and come to Him to receive it. We trust and lean on His everlasting arms for our rest. It's in His name that we pray. Amen!
