You Are Rich

"Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Col. 3:16-17 - CSB).

I hear people say all the time, "I am too blessed to be stressed," but when something hits them out of the blue, it takes the wind right out of their sails. It's one thing to read and study the scriptures, but when it's time to live it the ballgame suddenly changes and in most cases so does our attitude. The Bible tells us that when we keep the Word of God hidden in our hearts, nothing will catch us off guard. When we live, eat, and sleep the Word it becomes a permanent part in our life that creates change in our lifestyle.

It's easy to give praise to something when you can feel it in your heart. And it becomes even easier to teach others by our actions. In the Dictionary of American Proverbs, there is a saying that a poor man can't be happy because a happy man is never poor. Once the Word lives inside of you, you become rich beyond your wildest dreams as you now have something that is far more valuable then gold or silver. Let everything you do today be a reflection of the love of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

Father this is the day that You have made for us, and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Thank You for the richness and fullness of Your Word as it fills us up daily. We will keep it near and dear to our hearts so that when the time comes we can have the wisdom and understanding that we need. It's in Jesus name that we pray. Amen!
